Effective September 22, 2026. This page explains what information Drive Hope Foundation collects through drivehopefoundation.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep it short because the answer is short: we collect what we need to pick up your car and send you a receipt, and nothing else.

What we collect

When you submit the donation form, we collect what you type in: your name, email address, phone number, details about your vehicle, how you heard about us, and any photos of the vehicle you choose to attach. When you call us, we collect what you tell us on the phone.

When you browse the site, we may use cookies and a website traffic analytics service to see how the site is used and to improve it. Those measurements are aggregated with everyone else's and do not identify you, and you can accept them in the cookie notice that appears on your first visit. We do not use advertising trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-term server logs, such as the address your device connects from, to keep the site secure.

How we use it

We use your information to contact you about your donation, schedule your free pickup, handle the title and paperwork, and send you your donation receipt. Photos help us understand the vehicle before pickup.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for marketing. We share it only with the people who help us complete your donation, such as the crew that picks up your vehicle, and only what they need for that job.

Photos

Photos you attach are resized in your browser before they are sent, and the location data that phones hide inside picture files is removed in the process. They are stored privately and are visible only to our team.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to complete your donation and to keep the records a donation requires. You can ask us to delete your information at any time by calling 510-565-0947. We will tell you if any part of it has to stay for record keeping.

Children

This site is for adults donating vehicles. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date.
